The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) will hold its Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser at 6 p.m. on July 25 at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine, Calif. During the eveining, the association will pay tribute to the 2008 SEMA Hall of Fame inductees and raise funds for children's charities, Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp.

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Board of Directors has changed the name of the Sport-Compact Council (SCC) to the Street Performance Council (SPC). This new council name serves to include the diverse street-performance industry, which creates a broader market and provides new growth and educational opportunities for the council.

During last year's SEMA Installation Banquet, SEMA held a series of activities to raise funds for two worthy charities: Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp. More than $175,000 was donated to the two groups, and thousands of children were able to enjoy a better life than they would have otherwise.

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) are taking steps to help dealerships tap the $38 billion accessory market. Phil Brady, president of NADA, and Chris Kersting, president and CEO of SEMA, have announced a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive "Dealer Day" program designed exclusively for NADA members at the 2008 SEMA Show.
